| CHIROPRACTIC RESEARCH |
The chiropractic profession is the largest, most regulated, and best recognized of the professions that have traditionally functioned outside of mainstream medical institutions. Although the profession is still relatively young, having celebrated its 100'th anniversary in 1995, it continues to grow in acceptance as a health care discipline that is safe, beneficial, and cost-effective. This continued evolution has resulted from a growing demand for increased accountability and the use of procedures, protocols, and treatment interventions that are evidence based (backed by scientific research), with clear and quantifiable outcome measures. The growth and legitimacy of chiropractic has been supported by the profession's ongoing research efforts, which aim to bring new and exciting information regarding the benefits of chiropractic treatment to the forefront.
Government bodies and third-party stakeholders continue to support and recognize the safety, benefits, and cost-effectiveness of chiropractic care. Chiropractic care is covered by many
Extended Health Care (EHC) plans, the
Workplace Safety and Insurance Board (WSIB), and
Motor Vehicle Accident (MVA) claims. Chiropractors are trained to appropriately diagnose and treat pain and dysfunction of musculoskeletal origin, meaning any pain and dysfunction that is coming from the muscles, joints, tendons, nerves, and bones in your body.
Our centre will always strive to provide patient-centred, evidence based care. This means providing responsible care that is backed by scientific research, best available scientific research, and standard clinical practice guidelines. This also means referring your case to the appropriate health care practitioner if your case is an emergency or not suitable for chiropractic care.
Below we have included research links, referenced articles, research papers and reports that support the benefits of chiropractic care. We trust you will find these valuable and educational.
