The Workplace Safety and Insurance Board (WSIB), formerly known as the Worker's Compensation Board (WCB), is part of an
Ontario-wide system. The system is designed to help protect workers from injury or illness in the workplace, and to help them if they do suffer an injury.
Most Ontario employers must have workplace insurance coverage by law. The WSIB pays health care professionals for treatment and rehabilitation related to a
workplace injury.
Our Chiropractic practitioners are registered with the WSIB, and are approved providers of WSIB Programs of Care for Acute
Low Back Injuries, Shoulder Injuries, Musculoskeletal Injuries, and Mild Traumatic Brain Injuries. This includes workplace injuries such as rotator
cuff-shoulder tendonitis/strain, lateral epicondylopathy (tennis elbow), carpal tunnel syndrome, knee and hip injuries, ankle sprains, and repetitive strain
injuries. In addition, our Chiropractic practitioners provide rehabilitation services for individuals with non-surgical fractures under the
WSIB Non-Surgical Fracture Episode of Care (EOC) program. |
In the event you suffer a work-related injury, you must inform your employer or supervisor as soon as
possible so that they can give you assistance and fulfill their responsibilities regarding the incident. You have the right to choose the initial health care
professional who will treat you for your work-related injury. Our centre is well prepared to handle your workplace injury, including your initial assessment. We
offer prompt treatment of work-related injuries with access to care within 24 hours during the business week. You do not have to see a medical doctor to start
receiving treatment for a work-related injury. We will assist you in processing your claim and help you with any necessary paperwork.
If you have any questions concerning workplace injuries, contact our office or visit the
WSIB website for more information. |
